Return and Cancellation Policy
Items purchased online through the Van der Brit website are entitled to a full refund under the European legislation on distance selling.
A Return Material Authorization (RMA) number must be requested from Van der Brit within 7 days of delivery. Van der Brit are unable to accept returns on any item that has been worn. Van der Brit reserves the right to decline goods not received in their original state. If an item is returned in a different state to that when sent the client will pay for resend of goods.
To request an RMA number, please contact us at with your order number and details regarding your return. Once you have been issued with an RMA, return the item immediately in its Van der Brit packaging, any Packaging and labels which come with the goods must also be intact having not been removed or damaged. Please pack the item carefully and state the RMA number clearly on the external packaging. We recommend that you use a recorded delivery service for your own protection.
Items being returned within the UK should be returned within 7 days of the RMA number being issued. International returns should be shipped within 7 days of the RMA number being issued.
Exchanges are possible, but only if the item is available, and will only be dispatched once the returned item has been received.
Van der Brit does not accept responsibility for postage fees, nor for any items lost or stolen in transit. Any sales tax or duties payable on orders outside the EU will not be refunded and are the responsibility of the customer. Please note that any unidentified returns will be returned to the sender and will not be refunded.
The return policy does not affect your statutory rights.
2. Returns and Exchange
Returns and Exchange are only available if the goods supplied are not complying with the description on the website and if blatant faults are overseen.
Please use the below Item Description as a guide ;
- Mint: Item are perfect as new – no flaws or wear – collector’s item
- Excellent: Item used rarely – no detectable flaws
- Very Good: Item used with minor flaws, no repairs needed
- Good: Item in good condition but have visible wear – minor flaws and or optional repairs needed
- Fair: Item has numerous flaws, fragile, repairs needed
- Poor: Item has extensive damage. For display, study or reference only
In the event of a return or exchange all shipping back to Van der Brit is paid for by the customer. We are unable to refund you postal fees.
We strongly recommend that you fully insure your package that you are returning. We suggest the use of a carrier that can provide you with a proof of delivery Van der Brit will not be held responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.
Any product returned found not to be defective can be refunded within 5 working days from receiving the item and will be subject to a 15% restocking fee to cover our administration costs. Goods found to be tampered with by the customer will not be replaced but returned at the customer’s expense.
If you are returning items for exchange please be aware that a second charge may apply.
Cancellations are accepted only within three days from order via written email only. Refund will be completed within seven days from cancellation.
4. Incorrect/Damaged Goods
We try very hard to ensure that you receive your order in pristine condition. If you do not receive your products ordered, please contact us. In the unlikely event that the product arrives damaged or faulty, please contact Van der Brit immediately. This will be given special priority and you can expect to receive the correct item within 72 hours. Any incorrect items received all delivery charges will be refunded back onto you credit/debit card.
5. Delivery service
We try to make the delivery process as simple as possible and we are able to send your order either to your home or to your place of work depending on circumstances.
Delivery times are calculated in working days Monday to Friday. If you order after 4 pm the next working day will be considered the first working day for delivery. In case of bank holidays and over the Christmas period, please allow an extra two working days.
We aim to deliver within 3 working days from receiving the payment, but sometimes due to high order volume certain in sales periods please allow 4 days before contacting us. We will attempt to email you if we become aware of an unexpected delay.
